The short story "Harrison Bergeron" starts off by giving back ground information such as the setting and what is going on. The main conflict in this story is Person vs. Machine. Everyone has a dissability according to how good they are at something to where everyone is equal. There have been devices put into the ears of smart people to make noises to distract them when they are thinking. A couple were sitting on their couch in their home. The man named George was very smart he had a device in his ear to keep him equal to his wife Hazel, who was not the smartest person. Their son, Harrison Bergeron, had been taken by the government because he was good at everything. While George and Hazel were watching ballerinas on their TV, Harrison bursted in and began to dance with one of the ballerinas. He took off her mask that made her appear ugly because she was the prettiest of the ballerinas. The action in the short story began to rise. Harrison removed the handicaps from
